Dance Gavin Dance's former front man and vocalist Jonny Craig has joined Emarosa (this is old news already) but my point is that their new album "Relativity" Will be released July 8th 2008. They have 3 new songs on their myspace and these songs will surely blow you way.
Dance Gavin Dance has added a new singer Kurt Travis from the band A Five Minute Ride(also old news). Their album will be released
sometime in August according to their myspace. They have a new song "The Robot With Human Hair Pt.3" on their
myspace.
the debate is ongoing people saying that dance gavin dance is now terrible and that emarosa's new sound is really kicking in and the addition of Jonny Craig compliments the whole band's sound as a whole..YOU really have to HEAR it to believe it...The band's EP was superbly crafted but hearing the new 3 tracks out just stimulates my musical senses like crazy..
I both have great respect for both of these bands but i dont see tha point in comparing them for they both are great bands and coming from different places going to different directions..DGD is now branded as a Psychedelic/funk/Screamo band while emarosa is branded as Ambient/Emo/RnB...the two have their own distinct sounds making them who they are in the music scene today..
honestly to the people saying that DGD has lost its greatness because of the loss of their "frontman" jonny craig are such shallow people..the ENSEMBLE itself of DGD is still one of the best i've heard! the creativity is sheer genius! hahah...The riffs alone are carry so well along with the lyrics and the whole band as one.
And to the people that say Emarosa sounds horrible now maybe they arent just used to the huge line up change...saying that "jonny is trying to make emarosa dance gavin-ish" i beg to differ because his singing and skill in emarosa paves a new direction for this band and it seems that jonny is taking a whole new approach to this.. i see it as they chose evolution over extinction in this predicament. jonny sounds more mature now in emarosa..jonny will always remain one of the best vocalists in the genre or better yet in music in general now...Kurt travis on the other hand is harder for the people to appreciate for he came from a band that not everyone knows..which is harder for him for he has to live behind the shadow of Craig who's name shines bright when you hear the name DGD..earlier kurt travis live seemed to be just mimicing jonny craig but now has made a turn and added his own spice to the DGD sound..but hands down both bands are GREAT..enjoy! cheers!
